This page will deal with the Hellsing Manga Series.

The first 8 volumes of the Manga Series are out in the USA and Japan.

The Manga Series will consist of 10 volumes.
Hellsing manga is published in the US by Dark Horse Comics. In Japan it appears in the monthly publication Young King Ours chapter by chapter. The story is based on the premise that Abraham van Helsing did not kill Count Dracula as Bram Stoker cited in his book Dracula, but in fact captured the great vampire to do his bidding. Van Helsing changes his name to Hellsing and founds, with the Crown’s help and approval, the Hellsing Organization whose mission is to rid England or undead threats. Hellsing’s greatest weapon against the undead is in fact Dracula, whose name was reversed to Alucard to punctuate his role reversal. The manga series follows a story line involving a great threat not only to England but the entire world from an old enemy – namely Nazi undead most of which are artificially created.

The combined chapters tell the story of Integra Hellsing, how she found Alucard (a vampire) and how they rid England of undead threat. A vampire priest is on the loose in Cheddar. Back in the "present" many of the arresting officers have been killed, as well as an elite force named D11. Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing of the Hellsing Organization takes pleasure in announcing that she has sent only one man to clean up - a more powerful vampire from the Hellsing menagerie. Seras Victoria, a member of D11, is caught in the crossfire, turned by Alucard and recruited into the Hellsing Organization. Then a pair of teenage vampires cutting a swathe of bloody destruction across England becomes her first target as a member of Hellsing. Their next assignment is to clear the small Irish town of Badrick of the ghoul/vampire infestation when they meet Vatican Section XIII special assassin Paladin Alexander Anderson. It doesn’t look good for Seras when Alucard loses his head to Anderson until Integra shows up to send Anderson packing. In a turn of events it is Alucard who sends the regenerating priest packing.

Integra is holding a Round Table Conference on the 3rd floor of Hellsing Manor discussing with the other nights the problem of the freak computer chip that turns humans into artificial vampires. Outside the Manor, the Valentine Brothers are getting ready to attack with a bus load of heavily armed ghouls. Once the fighting starts it is action and blood all over the place. The younger brother Jan goes after Integra and the knights, while older brother Luke goes after Alucard. The battle rages on both fields and makes for quite a show. Hellsing comes out on top, but not without the loss of most of their men (humans that is). Vatican Section XIII invites Integra to a meeting to discuss what they know about Millennium. Seras and a group of Japanese tourists prevent a fight between Alucard and Anderson much to Walter’s approval.

Pip and the Wild Geese, a band of mercenaries, join Hellsing where they meet real vampires Seras and Alucard (quite the humorous moment). Integra decides to send Pip, Alucard and Seras to South America (Rio no less) to investigate. They hardly arrived when they are attacked and tons of action, blood and guts are delivered. One of Millennium’s main men Tubalcane Alhambra pits himself against Alucard in a battle royal. Pip meanwhile takes out the human commanders of the raid against Alucard & Seras. The Major is please with the War Declaration and looks forward to the coming battle.

With Seras’ help Alhambra is defeated and Millennium’s plans are learned by Alucard. Pip gets a helicopter and the three escape to the countryside. While in a little motel Alexander Anderson shows up, briefly fights Alucard and gives them the information and papers to a private plane to take them back to England. Alucard has a dream about his capture by Abraham Van Helsing while on the plane back to England. Once they arrive home they rush to a special meeting of the Knights, the Queen and Section XIII to report their findings. During the report Schrödinger shows up with a message from the Major. The Queen commands Integra and Alucard to defeat Millennium. Then an aircraft carrier is hijacked by Rip Van Winkle of Millennium and the Major prepares for all out War.

Alucard has yet another dream, this time it is a real head trip with the Spirit of the Jackal Willis. (don’t ask) A plan is made for Alucard to take a spy plane to the carrier and fight Rip. He does so with ease stabbing Rip with her enchanted musket and sucking her dry. Now however, Alucard is stuck in the middle of the ocean on the carrier and the Major launches his attack on London releasing 1000 chipped vampire soldiers from air ships. A member of the Knights is found to be a traitor and all hell breaks loose on London.

Death and destruction rain down on London. Integra, Seras, Walter and the Wild Geese prepare for War and make for Hellsing Manor. Alucard is on the carrier and not really seen in this volume. Maxwell of Section XIII has planned to destroy not only the Millennium but the Protestants as well with his Holy Army. Seras, Pip and the Wild Geese defend Hellsing Manor against an air ship of Millennium forces led by Zorin Blitz.

Pip and the Wild Geese fend off the majority of the Millennium forces but take a beating at the illusions of Zorin Blitz. Seras is nearly beaten to death by Zorin when Pip intervenes and saves Seras. He is then near death and has Seras drink his blood to make her strong and have him fight on with her. Seras defeats Zorin and the few remaining Wild Geese stay at the Manor in its defense. Maxwell and his Holy Army arrive in London just as the ghost ship (carrier) with Alucard also arrives. Walter is captured by the Captain and made into a chipped vampire. All the major players are now in place.

Alucard, the Holy Army and the Millennium Army all stand at the ready in the center of London. Integra gives Alucard the order to release all seals to level Zero and he then becomes his true form – Dracula. Dracula releases the “thousands upon thousands” of souls he has in him (from drinking their blood) as his undead army. The undead army crushed the Millennium and Holy Armies with ease. Maxwell is shot down from his helicopter in a bullet-proof box but Alexander Anderson, disgusted with how corrupt Maxwell has become breaks the box and the undead army kills Maxwell. Anderson then goes after Dracula. Alucard/Dracula fights Anderson who cuts his way through the undead hordes to reach him. Once Anderson gets to Alucard he uses his secret weapon – the Nail of Helena to turn himself into a thorn monster. Alucard is disgusted by Anderson’s actions and they start fighting. The Anderson-thorn monster gets the upper hand and Alucard is nearly done for, not really having the will to fight any longer. Alucard then starts seeing his past human life (his life flashing before his eyes kind of thing).
