Hounds of Hellsing

It would have and should have been just like any other day, but for some unexplainable reason this day was not. Mind you, Seras didn’t like sitting around and would often go to the shooting range to practice or clean the firearms in the armory when she wasn’t busy with a mission. She got some satisfaction dusting the undead harming ordinary citizens, but there were no missions today. Therein lays the problem. There had been no missions for nearly a week and Seras had already thoroughly cleaned every firearm in the armory more than once. There was not really anything for her to do and Sir Integra was not keen on letting the petite vampire roam the local mall. ‘As if I would cause a scene or harm anyone like Master would’ thought Seras gloomily. No sooner had she thought about the havoc her Master could cause at the Mall than she felt the tingling of his approach up her spine. ‘Great,’ she thought ‘here comes trouble with a capital A.’

“Is that any way to greet your Master, Police Girl?” Alucard inquired with a raised eyebrow.

Now Seras, having been around Alucard for quite a while, was in no mood for his games and snapped, “What do you want Master?”

This made Alucard’s other eye brow join the first somewhere in his unruly hairline. Alucard replied stifling his amusement at both Integra and Seras, “My Master has ordered me to train you and as she put it, to get me ‘out of her hair’. So I am here to show you how to shift into shadows, however attitude is everything and yours I see is a snappy one. Perhaps learning to shape-shift into a wolf would suit you better Police Girl.”

Seras was in no mood for Alucard tormenting her to amuse himself. Why the sudden interest in actually taking responsibility and teaching her something of her vampiric nature? ‘Oh yes, of course. Sir Integra ORDERED him to train me. Well, if he thinks that I’m going to go along with his games, he has another thing coming!’ Seras fumed internally. She had been careful to put barriers up around her thoughts to keep her Master from barging in on them.

“Will it take long Master? I have other things to do.” Seras asked trying not to sound too put out. An angry Alucard was a deadly Alucard.

“That all depends on you Draculina.” Alucard replied. “You don’t drink your blood like you should which hinders your progress and growth, but determination and concentration can make up for some of that.”

Seras decided to go ahead and give it a try. Really, what else did she have to do? Alucard on the other hand was actually looking forward to Seras’ attempt at shape shifting. He imagined her shifting into the guise of a small fluffy kitten instead of a wolf. He would then chase her around in his hellhound form a while just for fun. Alucard would never hurt her but she didn’t know that for sure. Yes, Alucard was looking forward to some fun tonight.

The two vampires got comfortable in Seras’ room and down to the fundamental’s of shape shifting. “You have to concentrate on the form you wish to take, in this exercise a wolf. See the features, the hair the underlying muscle and envision yourself taking on those features” Alucard instructed.

Seras obeyed and envisioned a beautiful white wolf. Concentrating harder she envisioned the skeletal structure and the strong powerful muscles over the bones. Soon she could see herself taking on that form and she started to feel different. Seras felt strong, bold and powerful and when she opened her eyes she noticed a snout. Seras then turned and looked towards her Master. She almost burst out laughing as the look on Alucard’s face was priceless. His mouth was agape, his left eye was twitching slightly and ‘no it couldn’t be’ Seras thought, but maybe the No Life King looked a bit awed.

Seras ran over to her Master who actually took a startled step back. “Did I do it right Master?” Seras asked into his mind. “Yes, yes you did Seras” was his quiet reply. “Well, what do I look like Master?” Seras asked. “You look like a very big bad wolf” was all Alucard could muster.

Standing before the shocked ancient Vampire was a blonde hellhound larger than his own. The beast had 8 blue eyes and teeth that would make a Megalodon shark envious. Seras was not the cuddly little kitten Alucard had envisioned but a hellhound that looked like it could kick his boney arse! He just stood there in awe. No fledgling had ever been able to shift into a hellhound form under 200 years of age and yet SHE had done it at only 2 years on her very first try.

He knew she was special when he had first laid his ruby eyes on her ocean blue ones. She had figured out rather quickly that he was not a mortal human but she willingly chose to walk the path of an undead. Something had drawn him to her, perhaps it had also drawn her to him. His master Sir Integra considered Seras a plaything for the ancient vampire but she was in fact much more to him than that. He would never openly admit it but he protected her because he did not want to lose her. The last and only woman to truly love him was his first wife when he was human. Seras sometimes reminded him of her. ‘Damn it!’ Alucard thought, ‘Seras brings out the man who was once human in me.’

Just as Alucard was lost in a thought he did not want to admit to thinking, Seras, who had been staring at her sire for some time now, decided to jump on him knocking the older vampire to the ground and licking his face. The elder vampire just lay there with a blank look on his face. Seras, afraid she had angered her Master, took off bounding through the mansion hoping to find Walter before Alucard found her.

Twenty minutes later both vampires were in Sir Integra’s office patiently waiting for her to finish yet another of the seemingly endless reports that were required of her. Seras was still in her hellhound form and her Master Alucard had taken his hellhound form sitting beside her. As he had initially surmised, his fledgling was larger in size than he was. Integra caught sight of the two of them and couldn’t suppress an amused smile at how the fledgling surpassed the master at something. She couldn’t be terribly upset with Seras as the poor girl was so often tormented by Alucard that she still feared him.

It seems Seras had sent several people to the Medical wing on her mad dash to find Walter. There were several heart attacks, and some broken bones from staff that tried to get away from the hell beast running amuck through the manor. All would survive and recover so no real harm was done. No one suspected that the beast was in fact timid, shy Seras Victoria. Still, even when she had finally found Walter and Alucard had taken on his hellhound form and started chasing Seras, she was careful to cause no harm or damage. Always the gentle spirited and thoughtful Seras, even if she was currently a hellhound.

“It’s already after sunrise and you should get some rest Seras. No one was seriously harmed so your mind may rest easy. You can change back now Police Girl” Integra commanded. Seras looked at her Commander with 8 questioning eyes. She hadn’t been told how to change back yet and she was so very tired. Her Master spoke to his Master’s mind “Integra she is still young and now tired. She doesn’t drink the blood like she should. She will need her strength to change back. Let her rest and I will work with her this evening when we awake.”

“Yes,” Integra said while starting to shuffle papers on her desk once again, “it would be best if you got some rest before you change back Police Girl. You and Alucard are …” Integra stopped and started to chuckle. Seras had curled up and was fast asleep in front of her desk. Alucard looked over and could not help but chuckle too. He decided to curl up with his Police Girl on the floor in front of his Master’s desk for his day sleep.

Before returning to her paperwork, Integra could not help laughing and saying “Sleep well, Hounds of Hellsing.”
