ISCARIOT
The Iscariot Organisation, or the Vatican Section XIII, is the Catholic counterpart to the Protestant Hellsing. In the story, all the affairs of the Vatican are dealt with by 12 sections (named for the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ) and a 13th, not meant to exist, named for Judas Iscariot. (Judas was an original disciple, but kinda hung himself)
Their methods and intentions are much more devout than Hellsing, and are fierce and violent in their pursuit of maintaining their rule. Their agents are fearsome and very, very dangerous people.
Paladin Alexander Anderson
Alucards biggest rival. He is a priest in the employ of the Vatican Secret Sevice, Section XIII, or Iscariot.
An intensely religious and very complex man, he looks after orphans and send the undead back to Hell. In terms of values, this man is perhaps the most moral character of them all, his mission is to rid the world of all undead, and those who associate with the undead. Which is not good news for Hellsing. In the eyes of Iscariot, Hellsing is no better than the undead they destroy, because they employ Alucard and Seras.
Anderson is a regenerator, using the technology of man to become a tool against evil, in the name of God. His devotion to the Pope is unfallible, as is his ferocity when it comes to fighting. His weapons of choice are blessed bayonets made of silver, which he uses with lethal accuracy. He can also cast bless his surroundings to weaken vampires.
Each time Alucard and he face each other, he relishes the fight gleefully.
Enrico Maxwell
Sleazy, unpleasant and very rude, this man is the leader of the Iscariot group. Essentially he is the equivalent to Integra, yet the pair do not see eye to eye. He would rather see Hellsing brought down than fight side by side for their shared goal. Maxwell seems to have no manners, as evidenced when he calls Integra a 'squealing English sow' at a meeting. He almost gets the wrong end of Alucard's Jackal for it. In both the manga and the anime he chides Integra for not controlling the freak-chip problem. He deludes himself that he is supremely godly, and lets no-one and nothing stand in the way of his dream of Catholic rule. He is cruel and violent, and sees Protestants as being as unholy as the undead.
Heinkel Wulfe (no picture yet): Another Agent of Section XIII, this gal (yes she's a girl) is feisty, feirce and holds a devout loyalty to the Catholic church (she appears in Cross Fire. Her methods are occasionally overkill, as she takes threats to the Vatican extremely seriously, perhaps personally. Her weapon of choice is her pair of pistols, which she uses with some deadly accuracy.
Yumiko/Yumie (no picture yet): Heinkel's partner(s) in crushing all threats to the Vatican. She's a nun by nature, a mild mannered, bespectacled young lady. Does that make her any use to Section XIII? No, but when you consider she's a berserker, with a violent and dangerous personality, the deadly Yumie, who emerges and soon leaves a trail of bodies (and body parts) behind her after she's let loose with her katana blade. |
