 Welcome to Hellsing FanFic! I am Joanne and as you can see I spend way too much time at my computers! What do I do at the computers you may wonder? At my desktop I work. I work from home as a contractor for Meijer (a chain of super centers similar to Wal-Mart but MUCH better and only available in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, USA). I do customer service and benefits work from home through the phone line and Internet. I am disabled since March 1986 when I injured my back while at work trying to get a 42 pound box of adult diapers down from the warehouse shelf 12 feet in the air. It was one of those really freak accidents but it has cost me dearly ever since. I had no idea the box was so heavy and grabbed it from up over my head while on a ladder. I didn’t want the box to knock me in the head and off the ladder so I twisted to the side to drop it next to me on the floor. That twist was all it took to ruin me for life. I have a double herniated disk between the last lumbar and first sacral bones that cannot be operated on because it is right where all the nerves for the legs go through. The perks for working at home are many however…I can work in my pajamas, I can get unlimited food and soda, I can lay down during breaks and the bathroom is always available! On my laptop computer, before the fatal accident a few weeks ago, I would listen to music, watch movies, post to my blog on Yahoo 360 and all the really fun stuff. I have a woman who cleans the floors since I cannot (because of my back) and she dumped a whole large cup of coffee with creamer into my laptop. Fried it good! The company she works for finally took the laptop and is getting estimates on repairs for it – good luck. I already checked and can buy a new one for less that the cost of repairs! |
