Royal Purple
Seras stood staring into the mirror with a pained look of disgust on her face. Tonight was the annual Harvest Ball and Sir Hellsing was expected to attend. No, actually in all honesty, Sir Integra was commanded to attend by the Queen herself. When Seras had first found out that she too was to attend she was ecstatic. She had only dreamed of attending one of the Queens Balls and felt like Cinderella. Now however, staring at the deep purple dress she was given to wear, she would rather sit by the fireplace and clean the cinders out of it than let anyone see her in this
thing.
It was a rather plain dress that gently hugged her natural curves, flattering her voluptuous hour glass figure. Seras objection was the color. The deep royal purple made her appear paler and sickly. While Seras possessed yellow blonde locks, her overall complexion was tinged a rosy pink. Warm colors would look much better on her than the cooler colors. The result was the cooler colors drained the color from her already pale complexion while the warmer colors would highlight and enhance her complexion making her appear not only healthier but more normal.
Here she was however, looking like a corpse, wondering who had found this thing for her to wear and why they had not consulted her first. Seras figured it was one of Integras old ball gowns as it would have looked wonderful on the young Knight. Seras, having been raised in an orphanage, was very used to hand me downs, so this would not surprise her in the least. Surely there must have been a gown of another color that would have worked better for her.
As Seras pondered what she was going to say to get out of going to the ball her Master, Alucard, bled into her room through the wall behind her. Why are you thinking so hard Police Girl? his silky smooth voice oozed. Seras turned and more forcefully than intended cried out because I cant be seen in public looking like this!
Alucard raised an eyebrow and began scrutinizing his fledgling taking in her appearance to determine what is causing her such distress. As he looked her up and down, the No Life King apparently did not notice the wolfish grin forming on his face. To him Seras appeared a goddess. Had her hair had been auburn she would have looked exactly like his mortal first wife Elizabeta. With his brain apparently disengaged, Alucard murmured ravishing.
Seras gasped as she saw the hungry lustful look her Master was giving her and heard him say ravishing. Surely he cant mean me Seras thought. Master is attracted to Sir Integra. He could never see me as attractive like her. Seras was starting to feel even worse with these thoughts roaming her head and slowly turned away. She was again trying to think of a viable excuse to not attend the Ball when her Master once again broke her concentration. You look like the royalty you are my Seras, breath taking beautiful.
Seras stiffened for a moment soaking in what she thought she had just heard. She slowly turned with a deep blush appearing on her cheeks to face her master and said. but Master this color makes me look so pale and washed out. I look dreadful. And Im not royalty Master. Im nothing more than a commoner. Alucard couldnt help but chuckle. Of course no one ever told her that he was Dracula, a true prince as well as the No Life King. Just by association that made her a princess of sorts. He decided to not spoil the moment and instead plainly told her You will always be a princess to me Seras as I am the King of Vampires. That purple color by the way is called Royal Purple for a reason. It has been highly favored through the centuries by bluebloods because of the deep commanding tone and was often the color of their robes and capes. You look pale Draculina because you are an undead, but looking pale does not mean you do not look beautiful.
Seras slowly smiled. It felt good to hear those words from her Master and now her dress did not seem so terrible. Alucard offered her his hand and entwined her arm with his as they left Seras chamber and headed for the awaiting car.
